SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH IN HOME COUNTRY

  • Please provide a brief summary of the project, aims, and the key activities to be taken. Please note if successful, the summary will be used by WIOMSA as communications material, e.g. as a short description of the project on WIOMSA website. This is for non-technical audience.

  • One of these (indicate which) should be a senior scientist who will act as your supervisor.

PART II: DETAILED PROJECT PROPOSAL

    a) Narrative

  • The contents of the detailed proposal should include;
    • Introduction, placing the proposal in the wider framework of the national and regional research priority;
    • What is known about the subject of the study including a list of the key references;
    • Specific objectives;
    • Methodology;
    • Expected results of the project within the time period covered by the grant;
    • Other staff collaborating in the project, with details of their scientific or technical competence;
    • Detailed work plan with timing
  • b) Budget

    • Required resources (equipment, consumables, field allowances, transport, etc.).
    • Available resources (Resources from other sources that will be used in the implementation of some of the activities)
    • In the planned utilization of the requested amount, allocation for the field allowance should not exceed 45% of the total budget
 

PART III: SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

  • In addition to the form please provide the following supporting documents
    i) A CV not more than 2 pages, including your recent scientific publications and research projects
    ii) Certified copy of your highest University degree
    iii) A CV of a collaborator in the project (not more than 2 pages, including your recent scientific publications and research projects)
 

PART IV: LETTER OF REFERENCE

  • Two letters of reference are required and should be provided by a person who has personal knowledge of the applicant's ability to conduct research in the proposed field.
